Say hello to our second batch of limited-edition Whisky Infused Smoked Tea.

In a past life this charred American oak barrel was aging full-bodied red wines and Starward Whisky single malt, today it’s infusing our smokey Lapsang Souchong tea leaves with a tantalising mixture of sweet and malty notes.

With only 400 boxes available, this Melbourne-made blend is exclusive to our online shop.


Whiskey Barrel matured Lapsang Souchong leaf tea from the Wuji Mountains in China.


This Chinese black tea is traditionally wood smoked in the Wuji Mountains of China where this style originated. Lapsang Souchong is used traditionally in Russian Caravan tea blends, to give a smokiness. The dry tea has been matured for 30 days in an ex-Starward Whisky French oak barrel, which has given it fabulous sweet and malty notes to complement the natural smoke.

Perfect Infusion

Water freshly boiled, 2-3 minutes to infuse, use 1 teaspoon per 300ml water. This tea is designed to be drunk without milk. It is a Chinese black tea without tannin – which means it is not bitter. Smokey, malty and sweet, yes, but not bitter.
